The Syracuse State Office Building is located next to City Hall. It is in
the block surrounded by East Washington Street, East Water Street, and South State Street.

From the North:
Exit 81S at the Salina Street exit. Follow North Salina Street south approximately two
blocks to James Street. Take a left on James Street, go two blocks and take a right on
Oswego Blvd. Go two blocks and you are at the East Water Street intersection. You are
behind City Hall, and the State Office Building is on the left of City Hall. Go straight
on Montgomery Street one block to East Washington Street, and paid parking is on the left
and right side of the next block.
From the South:
Exit 81N at the Adams Street exit. Go straight on Almond Street for one block, staying to
the left, to Harrison Street (look for sign for downtown). Take a left on Harrison Street
and go approximately three or four blocks to South State Street. Take a right on South
State Street and go approximately four blocks to East Washington Street. The State Office
Building is in the next block on your left. Paid parking is available at the next corner
of South State Street and East Water on the right.
From the East:
Exit 690W at Townsend Street. Take a left onto North Townsend Street and go two blocks to
East Water Street. Take a right on East Water Street and go two blocks and you will be in
the back of the State Office Building. Paid parking is available on your left at the
intersection of East Water Street and South State Street.
From the West:
Exit 690 East at West Genesee Street. At bottom of exit ramp, take a left and go
approximately 5-6 blocks to Oswego Blvd. (Please note that when you cross Salina Street,
the name of the street changes from West Genesee to James Street). Take a right on Oswego
Blvd and go two blocks. You will be at the East Water Street intersection and behind city
hall. The state Office Bldg. is next to city Hall on the left. Go straight one more block
to the East Washington Street intersection and there will be paid parking in the next
block on your right and left.
Parking In
addition to the paid parking on the corners of East Water/South State Street and East
Washington/Montgomery Street, there is also metered parking around the building. You
should plan on the orientation meeting and follow-up lasting approximately one hour.
Accessibility
There are four "Handicapped Parking Spots" behind the State Office Bldg.
reserved for individuals who have ambulatory difficulties. There is a ramp for those who
use wheelchairs behind the building and adjacent to the reserved spots. When entering this
back lot, you will need to explain to the security guard the purpose of your visit and
display a valid NYS Handicapped Parking Permit.
