MEDICAL ASSISTING DESCRIPTION Medical assistants work in medical offices and are trained to keep the offices running smoothly. They perform both clerical and medical duties. WORK CONDITIONS Medical assistants work in clean, well lit offices. They need to be able to handle more than one situation at a time. The work week is generally forty hours long. Evening positions can result in part time and overtime opportunities. TRAITS COMMON TO SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS 1. Interest in Helping Others. 2.
