INTRODUCTION

The intent of this Section is to assist guidance and career counselors in successfully placing students in career education programs. Of particular note are the industry expectations for all workers, regardless of disadvantages or disabilities. With an emphasis on positive characteristics, it is also possible to assist classified students in successfully selecting a career path.

Use the menu below to view career descriptions, work conditions, traits common to successful students, job outlooks and grade level of the course text.

This section and associated booklet would have been impossible without the cooperation and enthusiasm of Long Island Industry and the Long Island Transition Coordination site for the "grant" which provided funding for this project. Our deepest thanks and appreciation to our vocational instructors and staff of Eastern Suffolk BOCES, whose input and expertise are evident throughout this document.
