Actors use a script to portray ideas and images. They communicate and entertain by interpreting dramatic roles.

 WORK CONDITIONS

Actors are often out of work between theatrical engagements and need to remain focused and dedicated in order not to become frustrated. Evening and weekend work is usually needed and long hours will be required to memorize scripts.

 TRAITS COMMON TO SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS

1. Attractive or unique personal appearance.
2. Ability to speak and enunciate in order to be understood and achieve the emotions the role requires.
3. Good emotional health.
4. Physical stamina to be able to perform demanding roles in an often hectic schedule.
