DENTAL ASSISTING DESCRIPTION Dental assistants work chair side to assist as the dentist treats the patient. Dental assistants make the patient as comfortable as possible. Dental assistants sterilize instruments, prepare the dental tray and perform related clerical tasks. WORK CONDITIONS Dental assistants generally work in a dental office which is well lit with good ventilation. Most dental offices are open evenings and Saturdays which afford opportunities for part time and overtime work. TRAITS COMMON TO SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS 1. Good Manual Dexterity 2.
