CULINARY ARTS

DESCRIPTION

Culinary artists are responsible for skillfully preparing meals that are as pleasing to the palate as to the eye.

WORK CONDITIONS

Primarily restaurants, fast food franchises, delicatessens, hospitals and other institutions and corporations. Kitchen conditions vary depending on the type of business, restaurant, nursing home etc. All kitchen workers are faced with long hours, close quarters, lifting of heavy pots in overheated areas. Evenings and weekends as well as holidays are expected.
