Subject:	Web Conference Information Sessions

The Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID), Special Education Policy and Professional Development is planning regular information web conferences to provide up to date information on current special education topics, including updates on laws, regulations and emerging issues in special education.

These information sessions will be conducted using Elluminate, a provider of web conferencing. The web conference format will provide real time presentations that allow participants to view and participate in the sessions at their individual computers or through small or large group meetings in all parts of New York State. The sessions will also be archived for use at a later date by participants who were unable to attend the original web conference presentation.

The following requirements are necessary in order to participate in a web conference:

a computer with internet capabilities,
current version of Java installed on the participant’s computer, and
microphone, speakers or a headset is necessary for audio participation.

A schedule of web conferences, when available, will be posted at http://www.vesid.nysed.gov/specialed/techassist/.
