Mission:  The VESID Special Education Policy Unit develops special education law, regulations and policy which provide the appropriate legal framework that promotes equity and opportunity for all students with disabilities to meet educational standards established for all students in the least restrictive environment; develop informational materials which provide parents, educators; and other individuals with the necessary information to be effectively involved in the education of school-age students with disabilities.
