 Daily Living Skills Program

The Daily Living Skills Program services our multi-handicapped students at the elementary and high school level. The students work in classrooms, a specially designed apartment complex in the dormitory, as well as in our pre-vocational workshop and our high school work-study program. Our program is based on the New York State Standards for the Severely Disabled and is meant to maximize the students’ ability to live and work independently or in supervised situations.

A strong support staff enhances the program with augmentative communication, speech and language therapy, sensory integration, physical therapy, occupational therapy, adaptive physical education and daily living skills training. Most of the students are housed in the apartment complex enabling the program to continue into the evening residential program. For additional information contact Gordon Baker at gbaker@mail.nysed.gov .
