Our interscholastic athletic program is comprised of competitive teams representing boys’ basketball, soccer, and track; and girls’ soccer, basketball and softball. Additionally, there is a varsity cheerleading squad. NYSSD is a member in good standing of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA), Eastern States Deaf Athletic Association (ESDAA) Division II & III, and the public school North Country Athletic Conference (NCAC). We also offer Junior Leagues for our elementary students in basketball, cheerleading, soccer and baseball.

NYSSD athletic programs assist young athletes to develop a high level of sportsmanship, to exemplify the best ideals of personal behavior, and to refine their personal abilities, which will ultimately assist them in the enjoyment of lifelong recreational and sporting activities.
