At the NYS School for the Blind (NYSSB), our vision is that every child should enjoy life fully, to discover, grow and learn in a caring and nurturing environment. This is the basis for all programming at the NYSSB. We have a proud tradition of providing quality education to the children of New York State who are visually impaired and have additional disabilities.
You can locate the school in Western New York, within easy access to the New York State Thruway situated on a modern sixteen acre campus. It is a beautiful setting where children who are 5 - 21 years of age can go to school, develop friendships, and experience educational and recreational life in a safe and caring environment from a community of skilled and caring professionals. Programs, services, and transportation are provided at no cost to families.
The New York State School for the Blind is a state-operated school with oversight through the NYS Education Department.
