Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID)
Special Education and Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Dear Individuals Concerned with Special Education: 

The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) of the United States Department of Education (USDOE) will be holding meetings over the next two months to gather input relating to drafting regulations to implement the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).

OSERS wants to hear from everyone -- state-level personnel, Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), parents, advocates -- everyone. In an effort to assist OSERS to announce these upcoming meetings, we are asking you to help spread the word through your local contacts, constituencies and stakeholders.

The dates for the upcoming meetings are as follows (We currently only have location information for the ones in Newark, DE, Columbus and Boston.): 

• January 28, 2005 - University of Delaware, Newark, DE:  The meeting will take place in the Conference Center, John Clayton Hall, Room 106, 106100 Pencader Way from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM and from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
• February 3, 2005 - Ohio State University, School of Education, 384 Arps Hall, 1945 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43210 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM and from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
• February 7, 2005 - Boston, MA: The meeting will be held at the Sheraton Boston, 39 Dalton Street, (for those of you familiar with Boston, that is in the Prudential Center) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and from 6:30-8:30 in the evening. Public subway transportation is readily available to the Prudential Center and there is shuttle service from Logan airport. Parking is available, but expensive.
• February 11, 2005 - San Diego, CA
• February 15, 2005- Atlanta, GA
• February 18, 2005 - Laramie, WY
• February 24, 2005- Washington, DC

Specific addresses for the remaining meetings will be published in the Federal Register (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/fr/index.html). Also look for further information regarding the submission of written comments.
