Speaker Notes:
Section 615(c)(5)
A school district must evaluate a student with a disability before determining that the student is no longer a student with a disability (i.e., before declassification).
However, such a reevaluation is not required before the termination of eligibility due to graduation with a regular diploma (Regents or local diploma) or because the student has reached the end of the school year in which the student turns age 21. For these students, a summary of the student's academic achievement and functional performance must be prepared and provided to the student. The report must include recommendations on how to assist the student in meeting his/her postsecondary goals.
