This presentation, developed by the New York State Education Department, summarizes amendments to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), as amended by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (Public Law 108-446) signed into law by President Bush on December 3, 2004. The information presented represents the Department's understanding of the changes to law as of January 2005. This presentation will be revised, as appropriate, when federal regulations and/or guidance becomes available.
