The October 7, 2009 special education snapshot data are used for State Performance Plan indicators 5 (least restrictive environment setting for school age students), 6 (least restrictive environment setting for preschool children), 9 (disproportionality, based on race/ethnicity, in the identification of students for special education), and 10 (disproportionality, based on race/ethnicity, in the identification of students by specific disabilities). These data are also used for determination of disproportionality, based on race/ethnicity, in the placement of students with disabilities in particular settings and the calculation of special education classification rate.
