will provide NYSED with recruitment information including financial
incentives directed to the recruitment of Occupational Therapists at NYCDOE.
NYCDOE will send a mailing providing information on becoming a NYCDOE
employee and/or independent provider.

1. NYSED will
communicate with new and renewal licensees in Occupational Therapy advising
of opportunities at NYCDOE. NYSED will provide names and addresses to NYCDOE
for recruitment purposes.
Responsibility: Office of the Professions (Leslie Templeman/Robert Bentley) Time frame: Mid-July, 2004. Letter drafted that will be an insert to ongoing registrations and re-registrations. Legal authority will be sought to enable sharing the names and addresses electronically. NYCDOE documents will be added upon receipt and the mailing will be sent to reach the largest number of potential candidates |

3, 2004 Update: Letter under draft review at NYSED. NYCDOE has undertaken a successful recruitment drive in the Philippines which may result in 100 OTs and PTs available for employment in September 2005. |

17, 2005 Update: NYCDOE and NYSED will provide an oral report on the status of this activity. NYCDOE/DHR together with the Office of Special Education Initiatives completed a recruitment visit to the Philippines and is preparing to bring approximately 100 occupational therapists and physical therapists to the New York City school system in October 2005. |
