The New York City Department of Education has also instituted a national marketing campaign to attract qualified candidates from across the country. |

Most colleges are closed from around Dec 22 to Jan 22. A followup during that time would have produced nothing. The followup occurred on Feb 1, six weeks after the form was due. Some of the colleges not responding do not prepare teachers in these areas. (only 113 colleges have teacher ed programs). Bilingual special education higher education support center at Buffalo State University is conducting the data analysis. Representatives from Buffalo State and Office of Higher Education have met to discuss data transfer and analysis protocols. |

*Jose P. Personnel Categories include monolingual and bilingual special education teachers, monolingual and bilingual speech teachers, bilingual school psychologists, Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists. All categories except Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists require certification from the New York State Education Department. Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists hold licenses. There is no certificate required for school service.
