Appendix 56: Percentage of School-Age Students with Disabilities by Types of Educational Settings - Large Five Cities Compared to Rest of Public School Districts

  • New York City and Rochester placed the smallest percentages of students with disabilities in general education programs between 40 to 79 percent of the school-day compared to other regions and Need/Resource Capacity categories of school districts.
  • New York City had a significantly greater rate (9.2 percent) of placing students with disabilities in separate settings, compared to other large four cities.
