Participation and Performance on Regents English Examination

The number of high school students with disabilities in the cohort has increased each year from 10,838 in 1996 to 12,046 in 1997, to 13,795 in 1998 and 16,878 in 1999. A lower percentage of each year's cohort met the Regents English graduation requirement; 78.1 percent of 1997 cohort, 64.2 percent of 1998 cohort and 61.0 percent of the 1999 cohort. (The 1999 cohort data will be revised to include the August 2003 graduates.)
