Percentages of Students with Disabilities Earning High School Diplomas* by Need/Resource Capacity of School Districts, 2001-02 and 2002-03

* In this chart high school diplomas include Regents, local and High School Equivalency diplomas.
** Need is defined by a weighted average of the 2000-01 and 2001-02 kindergarten through grade 6 free/reduced price lunch percentage and the percentage of children aged 5 to 17 in poverty according to the 2000 Decennial Census. (An average was used to mitigate errors in each measure.) Resources are defined as the ration of district wealth per pupil to State average wealth per pupil. *** Big 4: Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, Yonkers.

High school diploma results improved in almost all Need/Resource Capacity categories of school districts. Results in the Low Need/Resource districts exceed the 80 percent target rate.
