Chart: Number of Employment Outcomes in New York State*,**
* Data as of October 1
** Past year data are not presented in this chart due to a change in the federal definition of "employment outcome". Beginning in FFY 2002, individuals placed in non-integrated settings were not recognized as employment outcomes.

Using the revised definition of employment outcome, in FFY 2002, 14,574 individuals with disabilities achieved employment in New York State, representing a decline of 421 placements from the previous year. Some reasons for this decline are stated under the previous chart.
