In Federal Fiscal Year 2001, the number of individuals who obtained employment after receiving funding for postsecondary education decreased by 4.9 percentage points from the previous year. Hourly wages increased for all VESID consumers who obtained employment. In FFY 2001, the starting salary for consumers who attended postsecondary education programs was approximately $3.29 more/hour than for consumers who did not pursue postsecondary education.
