Mid Hudson VESID
District Office places 1353 persons with disabilities into employment.
The Mid Hudson VESID office showed an 18% increase in job
placements for the New York State fiscal year (April 1, 2000 to March 31, 2001). This
represents the largest percentage increase in New York State.
Poughkeepsie, NY: 18% more
individuals with disabilities found jobs during this fiscal year in the five counties that
comprise the Mid Hudson Region which are Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan.
VESID (Vocational and Educational Services for People with Disabilities) is part of the
New York State Education Department. During this past year the Mid Hudson Office served
6410 persons with disabilities. Services provided to these individuals included:
vocational counseling, guidance, training or advanced education, job readiness and
placement into employment. The following data reflects the number of persons VESID placed,
