Why VESID Should be Your Ticket Provider
Why Choose VESID?
VESID is the New York State agency that provides vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities (other than blindness). Vocational rehabilitation (VR) is a set of services that are available to enable people with disabilities to achieve employment.
VESID provides high quality employment service to people on Supplemental Security Income (SSI)/Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). We have a history of helping people with a variety of disabling conditions.
VESID’s Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors are educated professionals. We help you examine the labor market and choose a job that maximizes your strengths.
VESID knows that many issues concern you as you consider going to work such as medical insurance, childcare, accessibility. We are trained to help you with these.
VESID works with you regardless of whether you want full time or part time employment. We help you find work whether you want to supplement your SSA check or to get off Social Security benefits entirely.
VESID urges you to take advantage of Benefit Advisement so that you understand exactly what will happen to your monthly check and medical insurance when you go to work. We can direct you to these services.
